Working for Emergency Medical Doctors Services takes me all over the country, and festival season is our busiest time. So, when training goes quiet as summer holidays start during August. I work as an Emergency Medical Technician.
NASS Festival – The clinical team of 2 anaesthetists, 3 paramedic practitioners, ambulance technicians and our public first aid staff have had a busy time at the 2016 NASS festival. An amazing event that is growing year by year. No Hospital admissions and several key interventions provided on site, meaning festival goers can stay at the event.
EDMS covered the 2016 Boardmasters festival on the 12th -14th August.
With over 38 EDMS staff on site 24 hours a day the Boardmasters festival in Newquay was an amazing event with 40,000 people attending. EDMS ran 2 complete medical centres, were we dealt with all cases on site and had zero hospital transfers or referrals. Our on site facilities and expertise meant we can assess, treat and discharge patients safely and effectively. The deployment consisted of doctors, paramedics, ambulance technicians and first aid staff.
An amazing team as always. Our next festival will be Sundown in Norwich on the 2nd – 4th September.
Well, another major festival with EDMS running 2 medical centres with 3 resuscitation bays, 2 Majors bays and a minor injury section at the 2016 Sundown Festival in Norwich.
Again a huge thanks to the team that again ensured zero impact on any NHS resources and the local health economy.
The team consisting of doctors, nurses, paramedic practitioners, ambulance staff and first aid staff provided constant 24 hour medical care over the 4 days.
An amazing team as always.
