Loss & Bereavement Course

I am running this course on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support.

This workshop will help to address the volunteers concerns

Learning Outcomes: At the end of the workshop participants will-:
• Identify any fears they may have around dying and bereavement when supporting themselves and others
• Identify helpful approaches when offering support to those bereaved
• Explore different cultural differences and bereavement rituals and explain their importance when supporting individuals who are bereaved
• Recognise individual beliefs and how these might influence our responses to different bereavement issues
• Demonstrate an understanding of individual behaviours and responses to bereavement
• Identify how a framework can help in supporting those bereaved and dying
• Demonstrate an awareness of the boundaries of their role in relation to the service
• Recognise the impact of supporting someone through dying and bereavement on themselves and know where to seek appropriate support
